Getting to and getting around Lissewege

Getting there by car.  The village is located close to Zeebruges and about 12 km from the center of Bruges.  You can easily get there via the E403.  Since the village is quite small, parking should not be an issue.  There is a parking lot next to the church and another one next to the railway station.

Getting there by busYou can get to Lissewege by local bus from Bruges or Zeebruges, but it takes a while to get there (about 45 minutes from Bruges).  All info on bus lines can be found on

Getting there by trainThe train is probably the best option if you don't have a car at your disposal.  On the line Bruges - Zeebruges, there is a stop in Lissewege and it will only take you about 15 minutes to get there.  There is a train every hour during the day.  The timetables can be checked on

Getting around.  Lissewege is a small village; the best way to discover Lissewege is on foot.  Note that it's about 1.5 km from the church to the Ter Doest abbey.

Tourist officeThe tourist office is located behind the church in the old presbytery. Address: Oude Pastoriestraat 5.
